Using AI for Discovery

Here are three great ways to use AI when you're validating:

1. Persona Simulation

Practice your interview skills before talking to real customers.

Prompt: "Act as a busy CFO at a 50-person company. I'm going to interview you about your accounting software pains. Respond as that persona would—including being impatient and skeptical."

2. Transcript Analysis

Extract patterns from interview notes that humans miss.

Prompt: "Analyze these 5 interview transcripts. Extract: (1) recurring pain points, (2) emotional triggers, (3) 'Jobs to be Done', (4) workarounds they mentioned."

3. Experiment Design

Generate creative low-cost tests you might not have considered.

Prompt: "I have a Desirability risk: 'Do freelancers care about cash flow forecasting?' Suggest 5 low-cost smoke tests I can run this weekend with less than $100."
The AI Hallucination Trap

AI is a reasoning engine, not a truth engine. It sounds right but may be wrong.

Rule: Never use AI "feedback" as a stand-in for real humans. AI is for practice only—not validation.
